2005 Foxen Cuvée Jeanne Marie, Williamson-Doré Vineyard, Santa Ynez Valley.
Deep garnet colored and opaque with a purple-magenta rim. Medium
intensity aromas of blackberry and tangy cherry are accented by
floral notes and a hint of mocha. In the mouth, Medium intensity
blackberry is backed by light vanilla and sweet oak followed by
notes of coffee and floral hints. Full bodied, with tannins more
like green bananas than fresh walnuts, this wine has a generally
dusty mouthfeel. A long finish of black berry ends dry and
astringent and hot.

BOTTOM LINE: Very good.
Highly recommended.
A
generally dusty and tight GSM blend, this wine opens up some
with decanting. Very good balance and acidity makes this a good
food pairing (especially with red meat) despite the heat. Two
years in the cellar may allow it to evolve more complexity. It
should be very enjoyable for another five years thereafter.
