Arthur Z. Przebinda founded redwinebuzz.com in 2006 to focus on California's Central Coast wines and to offer general wine education. His first spark of interest in wine came at an early age and a relative visiting from France brought several bottles of wine as gifts. He continued to expand his wine horizons as a student in Europe from 1994 to 1998. After returning to the U.S. he continued to cultivate his passion for wine. All along, he sought to gain greater understanding of wine beyond enthusiasm and appreciation. As a Medical Doctor, he goes by "Dr. Arthur" or "Dr. P". Prior to Medical School, he studied Biology at U.C. Irvine. The curriculum included plant physiology, molecular biology, general and organic chemistry and biochemistry. This background greatly helped him understand wine science. His background in neuroscience helps him understand human sensation and perception and underlies his belief that everyone has the potential to become a skilled and informed wine taster. |

Arthur drew on his medical specialty in diagnostic imaging to create a way of describing wine that is more concrete, consistent and objective. He compares it to the way diamonds are rated on the basis of color, clarity, cut and weight - separately. This approach allows him to look at each wine objectively and not through the subjective lens colored by preference. By separating himself from he description of the wine, he offers individuals the necessary information to select wines according to their own tastes and preferences and make more informed purchase decisions. Arthur has been consulted as a wine expert, including in legal cases. He has contributed articles and pieces to several publications, including Appellation America and the California Winery Advisor.
