Focus and audience

Our focus is the Central Coast and since a very large portion of our readership visits this region, we encourage Central Coast businesses to advertise with us.

We welcome businesses from other wine regions, as well, since our demographics indicate our readers visit other wine regions.

Products and services accepted

In order to avoid conflicts of interest, Central Coast Wine Report will accept advertising that will not establish relationships which would cast doubt on its credibility and impartiality. To this end, we will generally accept advertising of the following categories of businesses as long as they are not located on winery premises/property, operated by a winery or as its subsidiary business:

  • Lodging (hotel, motel, bed & breakfast and rental lodging)
  • Restaurants
  • Spas
  • Limousine or chauffeur services
  • Vehicle and bicycle rentals
  • Guided tasting tours
  • Guided vineyard tours
  • Hiking and other guided or unguided exploration of wine country
  • Brick-and-mortar wine stores not operated by wineries
  • On-line wine retailers and wine clubs not operated by wineries
  • Wine festivals and wine-focused events
  • Professional winery services
  • Wine storage facilities (commercial and consumer-oriented) not affiliated with a winery
  • Wine education services
  • Wine-related items and accessories not specific to, proprietary or promotional of any particular winery
  • Regional wine growers' or vintners' associations
  • Associations or organizations whose mission it is to promote the wines of a particular region, style or variety

Impartiality and independence

Central Coast Wine Report does not accept "advertorial" content.

Placement of advertising on Central Coast Wine Report does not constitute a guarantee of quality of products and services advertised nor is it an endorsement of those products and services by Central Coast Wine Report or any of its staff or agents.

Central Coast Wine Report, its staff or agents do not control, nor are they responsible for the quality or nature of goods, services or events advertised (such as, but not limited to: menus, amenities, accommodations, selection of products, curricula, event agendas and participants, itineraries of wine tour and tasting services, etc).

In accordance with our policy, Central Coast Wine Report will not accept advertising from/of the following businesses to avoid conflicts of interest:

  • Individual wineries
  • Individual wines
  • Entities whose distribution portfolio includes Central Coast wines whose production that entity controls

Categories not listed above will be considered on a case-by-case basis with impartiality and avoidance of conflicts of interest as the guiding principles.

We reserve the right to refuse to advertise businesses, events, services and goods which are offensive, of a discriminatory tone or nature, promote or glamorize violence or hate of a group, infringe on the rights of a third a party or are generally offensive or in bad taste, as determined by the owners or agents of Central Coast Wine Report.
