Wine in the News: March 2007.

redwinebuzz.com brings you news from the world of wine. Our goal for this section is not to provide comprehensive coverage of an issue, but to make each entry a gateway to the complete story. The only exception to this is when we are the only source of the story. We seek out stories that are relevant and interesting - whether they are serious or not. Older stories are in our wine news archive.

To submit a story or bring a subject to our attention, use the links on the "Key Contacts" page. Citing redwinebuzz.com content

Clos Pepe tragically loses key vineyard workers.

Two Clos Pepe Vineyard vineyard workers: Rogelio Reyes, 29 and Ramon Cisneros Acosta, 42, drowned in an apparent accident in the irrigation pond at the Sta. Rita Hills estate. The Pepe family was out of the country and made arrangements to return immediately on learning of the tragedy. Steve and Catherine Pepe are labor attorneys who forged strong, familial bonds with their vineyard workers and provide their full-time, permanent, vineyard team higher compensation and benefits than is standard for the industry and area. Full Story. Announcement on the Clos Pepe homepage. Also, more here and here.
