Many of these produce great wines. There is a mental association in people's minds that Napa IS wine country and there is none other. Names have little to do with it. Central does not echo quality. You know, Central Los Angeles (or fill in any city), Central Valley, Central America, Discount Central. It's sort of the same with South.
