James David Cellars, 2007 muscat blanc
Fortuitously, we start with a Central Coast wine. Paso Robles based James Davide Cellars poured their muscat blanc.
Light gold colored, rich with pear and honeysuckle, hints of acacia. Mineral and warm in the mouth with floral-over-tropical notes. It finishes with apricot, faint sweetness. Acidity is not bad but there is a bitter note somewhere towards the back and it is a bit warm in the middle. Owner/producer David Cole recommends this wine chilled, with spicy foods. This is a personal choice as some may find the 14.5% ABV may flare spices oo much for their tastes.
