Happy New Year!

December 31st, 2008

My plans for this New Year’s Eve were spoiled by a nasty flu. Bummer. We’d planned to head up to the Sta. Rita Hills and ring in 2009 at Clos Pepe Vineyard. The severity of this flu precludes this outdoor celebration – in projected 47 degrees. Instead, I’ll be at home, under a blanket, watching Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin make sniping comments about celebrities.

2009 will bring many changes – for the country, for the world of wine, for redwinebuzz.com, for winesooth.com and for me, personally. All of these will be positive and I’m very excited about them.

Still, I’m concerned about the uncertainties of the economy and how that will affect my life. It’s strange to feel both hopeful and tenuous at the same time.

My New Year’s wishes for all friends and readers are that your successes grow, your failures diminish and that you continue in good health and spirits.

Whatever you do tonight, be safe and avoid playing with heavy metal objects and highly pressurized bottles of sparkling wine.
